Bosnian man charged with stabbing wife through the neck

A Louisville woman is in critical condition after police said her 31-year-old husband stabbed her through the neck with a kitchen knife.

Haris Sefo hit his wife, Aldijana Geizic-Sefo, several times Wednesday (March 6) morning before grabbing a knife off the kitchen counter and stabbing her “several times in the torso, back and arms,” a Louisville Metro Police report said.

Sefo sliced his hand during the attack and he temporarily lost his grip on the knife, the report said.

When he regained control of the weapon, he “jammed it all the way through her neck” and left it there while he called family members to come help her, the report said.

She was taken to University Hospital, where she underwent surgery and is in critical condition, the report said.

Sefo was also treated at the hospital, where he was arrested Wednesday at about 11:20 a.m. He was charged with first- and fourth-degree assault.

The couple live at the Shelby Crossing apartments and condominiums in Middletown, the police report said.
